Herrera-Pol recently retired from the World Bank where she was the Global Head of Capital Markets. She oversaw the team responsible for designing the World Bank funding strategy and managing its multi-currency funding program in global money, capital and derivatives markets.

“We are pleased to welcome Doris Herrera-Pol to the IFFIm Board,” said René Karsenti, Chair of the Board. “She has decades of experience working in the capital markets from her time at the World Bank, and has been involved with IFFIm since its inception. With her guidance, IFFIm will help Gavi reach even more children with life-saving vaccines.”

Herrera-Pol’s 3 year appointment to the Board began 13 November 2015.

IFFIm is a multilateral development institution created to accelerate the availability of predictable, long-term funds for health and immunisation programmes through Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in the world’s poorest countries.
